Do I need prior Pilates experience?

No. All of our classes are co-ed and welcoming to everyone, and our instructors give setup and modification cues throughout class. Our class format descriptions note which classes are all levels and which are best once you're comfortable on the Reformer.

Question 3

Why are grip socks required?

Accepted Answer

Grip socks are required for both safety and hygiene reasons. They help prevent slipping on the equipment, reducing the risk of injury. They also help maintain a clean and sanitary environment for all clients. Wearing socks helps protect the upholstery and surfaces of our equipment, keeping it in good condition for everyone. If you forget your socks, we have grip socks available for purchase at the studio!

What should I bring?

We provide mats and all equipment needed for class, so all you need to bring is yourself, grip socks and a water bottle. If you prefer to use your own mat, you're always welcome to bring it along!

When should I arrive?

We do ask that you arrive on time to class whenever possible, as it can be disruptive to other clients when you arrive late. Being on time also ensures you don't miss instructions on how to set up your reformer, which can vary from class to class. That being said, we know things happen, so we don't have a strict tardiness policy. If you know you will be more than 5 minutes late, though, please text us or leave us a voicemail to give us a heads up - this is really helpful for our instructors!

What class formats do you offer?

We offer a wide range of Reformer, mat and strength formats each week - including Core Classic, Core Flow, Core Focus, Core Stretch, Core Cardio and Core Circuit on our Amp cable machines.

Question 7

What is the difference between Reformer classes and Strength?

Strength by Core Collective is our coached strength program built around the Amp cable machines, and it runs at our Plymouth Road studio. It's a separate format from our Reformer classes, and it's included with memberships and class packs.

Question 8

What is the tower? Which classes use the tower?

Accepted Answer

The tower is a vertical attachment on the Reformers at our Packard studio. A mat is placed on the Reformer to create a larger, stable surface, while the Tower's springs and bars provide resistance or support. It allows you to work on a grounded, non-moving surface while still benefiting from spring-based exercises. We don't offer separate tower classes. The tower is available only at our Packard studio and may be incorporated into select classes alongside reformer work depending on the instructor's preference and class focus. You'll never need to choose a special tower class, just show up and enjoy the experience!

Do you provide mats for the mat classes?

Do you offer female-only classes?

How do I book more classes?

If you haven't already downloaded it, we highly recommend installing the Wellness Living 'Achieve' app to your phone; this is the easiest way to book classes, cancel classes and manage your account - especially if you are frequently on the go.

Question 14

I have an active membership, and the app is asking me to make a purchase - what do I do?

If this is happening, please double check the following things: make sure you don't have a negative balance on your account, make sure you have remaining visits for the month, and make sure your membership is not suspended. If you are still having trouble with this, feel free to reach out to let us know - we'd be happy to troubleshoot!

Do I need to reserve classes in advance?

We highly recommend booking your classes at least a week in advance - and you can book up to 3 weeks in advance if you really have your life together :)

How do I view my remaining visits?

Accepted Answer

If you are using the Wellness Living Achieve app, click on 'More' in the right-hand corner, then select 'Purchases' - you should be able to view your remaining sessions here. Then, simply click into your current membership to view your renewal date. You should be able to view the same information in the web app, as well - just view your purchases.

The class I want to take is waitlisted; will I get into a class?

Don't be afraid of the waitlist - it is very likely you will get into a waitlisted class! We cap our waitlists, and clear the vast majority of these waitlists every week. You will receive a text if you have cleared the waitlist and will be automatically placed into the class.

How does the waitlist work?

We highly encourage you to waitlist for classes, as we tend to clear the vast majority of our waitlists every week. You will get a text message if you are moved into the class - and while you have no obligation to attend if a spot opens up within 10 hours of class, if you are moved into the class prior to that point, our standard cancellation policy does apply. As a courtesy to other clients, please remove your name from the waitlist if you can no longer make it to class - we really appreciate it!

Can I waitlist for multiple classes on the same day?

We highly discourage this, as this often results in you getting into multiple classes, then being penalized for multiple late cancellations. Please choose the class that works best for your schedule; if you don't clear the waitlist for that class and another class opens up, we will notify to let you know.

If I don't get into a class, does that session get added back to my account?

What are your membership options?

We're glad you asked! We offer multiple membership options to allow you to incorporate Pilates into your life no matter how busy you may be! Select from 4, 8 and 12 sessions per month. See our pricing page for more details.

Do you have a 6-session/month membership?

Accepted Answer

We don't offer a 6-session/month membership - but if 4 sessions isn't quite enough, you can purchase a 4-session/month membership and add extra sessions at a discounted member rate whenever you want to do more than your monthly allotment. It's the most flexible way to land somewhere in between our membership tiers.

Do you offer class packs?

Not ready for a membership? Yes! You may also purchase drop-in sessions or class packs; we have 4-session, 12-session and 24-session options. These may be purchased on our website or through our app. Interested in getting an additional discount? Ask us to set these up on auto renewal for you for up to $50 off.

Do you have an unlimited membership option?

Yes, we do. Unfortunately, due to very high demand and limited class capacity, we currently have a waitlist for this membership. In the meantime, we do have an option to purchase an auto-renewing 16-session/month membership - this is great if you're taking at least 4 classes/week, but want the flexibility of booking more classes once your monthly allotment runs out. If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out to let us know; we'd be happy to find the best fit for you!

Do you offer student pricing?

Yes! We have a limited number of student memberships available each semester, starting at $66/month. These must be purchased in studio. We recommend booking an intro session to get started, then deciding on a good fit after your first class!

Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrades and downgrades are both requested through our membership changes forms - downgrades take effect on your next renewal date unless you tell us otherwise.

Can I suspend my membership?

Yes. Membership suspensions are requested through our membership changes page, and there is a $8 suspension fee. We'll contact you to confirm your suspension.

Question 28

How do I cancel my membership?

Per your membership agreement, we require that you complete your cancellation request 21 days before your renewal date, and that you complete your current membership term to avoid early termination fees. These same terms apply for clients coming off of a membership suspension. If you're planning to return later, email us - a longer-term suspension is often a better option.

Do you offer pricing options for out of town clients?

Yes - we do! You are eligible for a discounted new client (non-local) session if you are new to the studio. If you are only in town for a short period of time, you can either choose to purchase a single month of membership or a class package, depending on which would work better for you. If you are visiting a current client, please inquire or have them inquire about guest passes - we offer these discounted sessions as a perk to our members and current package holders.

What is your class cancellation policy?

If you are unable to make it to a class, we ask that you cancel a minimum of 10 hours in advance. Classes canceled within 10 hours of their start time will be forfeited - and an additional $8 penalty will be assessed. No-shows are subject to a $12 penalty. This policy serves a dual purpose: it ensures waitlisted clients have a better chance of being moved into a class (which is especially important being that we only have a limited number of reformers), and has the added benefit of helping you hold yourself accountable on days when your motivation is running low (we've been there).

Where are your locations?

We have two Ann Arbor studios: Plymouth Road at 1713 Plymouth Road, and Packard Row at 2111 Packard Street, Ste 137. Memberships and class packs work at both.

Where do I park?

Plymouth Location: There is open parking available directly in front of the studio and throughout the surrounding complex. Packard Location: We have 12 designated Core Collective parking spots on-site. There is also ample free street parking on the adjacent side street for your convenience.

Is childcare available?

Yes - we offer onsite childcare during select classes. Childcare is $8 for a single session, $24 for a 4 pack and $60 for a 12 pack.

Can I take Pilates while pregnant?

Yes - many of our clients continue Pilates through pregnancy with modifications, and we have guidance for each trimester along with the class formats we recommend. Please follow your provider's advice about exercise during pregnancy.

I'd like to invite a guest - how do I book them into a class?

Send us a text or email with their name, contact info & preferred class day & time, and we'll help set them up. If you have a preferred reformer assignment, let us know that, too! Guest passes are $18 when purchased by a current member. If your guest is local to Ann Arbor and may be interested in attending more classes in the future, let them know they can take advantage of our intro offer, and get their first session for just $15.
